Open Italy 2024 - 8th Edition
For the third consecutive year, we took part in the Open Italy program, which promotes the collaboration of large corporate entities and innovative realities, fostering a culture of Open Innovation.
In 2023, 58 companies took part in this event and as many as 679 Innovation needs were collected.
OPEN ITALY's goal is to foster dialogue and collaboration between large companies, Italian Startups/SMEs and innovation enablers such as accelerators, research centers, Venture Capitalists and young talents, through concrete innovation projects. Over time, OPEN ITALY has built "a space" where heterogeneous stakeholders exchange opinions and work together to encourage the introduction and development of innovative solutions in the Italian economic context by fostering the culture of open innovation in Italy.
The companies included in this context have identified 8 common areas to invest in innovation:
- Sustainability, Decarbonization & Circular Economy;
- Urban Intelligence & New Mobility;
- Operational Excellence and Asset Management;
- Customer Centricity & New Sales Channels;
- Digital HR & New Ways of Working;
- Safety Management & Digital Health;
- Privacy & Cybersecurity;
- Open Finance, Digital Payments and Smart Contracts.
Based on their needs, each reality can propose innovation projects that concern them (business needs) through the Open Italy platform, and innovative realities can apply for their resolution. The startups that propose the most interesting and innovative solutions are then selected by corporations and get the chance to present themselves in Demo Day events. On January 24 and 25, during the kick off of this season, we took part in table number 5 Ecotech & Sustainability #1, together with companies such as ENI, Terna and Movyon.
During these 2 days we were able to learn more about the innovation trends of other large Italian companies that, like us, strive to not only keep up with the times, but push themselves a bit further to make the most of what technologies such as AI, generative AI, Blockchain, and others have to offer. In addition, we were able to work in working groups to identify the challenges of 2024, pooling the experiences of big companies and trying to co-create and co-innovate.
